Faasos Wraps Review

After seeing the numerous posts about Faaso's wraps today on Where Chennai Eats, I gave in to ordering them too. Downloaded their app and mylapore wasn't in their range of delivery points. So messaged them on the app about this and they got back and said they could deliver. There's also an offer where you get 100 rs off on your first app order. Decided to order the "Chsy chicken bhuna (120 rs)" and the 3-non veg wrap combo which looked like a pretty good deal for 175 bucks. The combo has chicken tikka, chicken mac n cheese and chicken seekh kebab so that would be more than enough for just me! Also opted for the multigrain wheat option for the Chicken bhuna wrap as the others came in a maida one.  The total bill after discount came to 245 incl. taxes of 40.

The delivery guy reached in half hour as promised and just gave me the boxes in my hand! Anyway it didn't feel hot so I was hoping it would taste yummy.

There were a few packets of ketchup along with "Faasos Teekha Chaska" that tastes like maggi seasoning. :\

L to R: Chicken tikka, chicken seekh, Chic Mac n Cheese, Cheesy Chicken bhuna wheat

So decided to dig in right away as it was already only mildly warm. The Chicken tikka was decent and with gravy reminiscent of butter chicken. But it also tasted like there was some pickle added to it for some reason so that put me off a bit. Not bad though. The Chicken Seekh was quite bland and there wasn't much of any taste coming through. Even though the wrapping looks thin it's feels thicker as it's maida based and multi layered. The Mac and cheese chicken was okay again. Nothing great but at least it had some cheesiness going for it and I've never had this variant in a wrap. The chsy Chicken Bhuna which I ordered separately from the non combo was spicy as expected but the spices tasted raw and the Cheese I guess was fully forgotten. Thirty bucks more than the non cheese version and no cheese to be seen or tasted! But the wheat covering made it more palatable. The fillings also left more to be desired as it was onions through and through. Anyway, I had a few bites of each and I was feeling full by then so stored them away. All in all, not very exciting stuff at all. However, after reading the number of positive reviews this may be just a matter of my personal taste. I'm not sure but am hoping they taste better when they are hotter since the rolls at The Katti roll shop and places like Tic Tac are far better! Will visit the outlet soon to check it out. Until next time!
